Book Signing - March 2017
My first book signing
I had my first book signing on March 11, 2017 at the local library. I was a little nervous but looked forward to talking with everyone who stopped by. When we planned the date for the book signing I hoped to have my guide dog but due to our chilly winter weather, I didn't meet him until later in March. He'll be there for the Spring Market; I’ve already reserved a table and we’ll greet shoppers together! Things to think about before your book signing Print a few of your favorite coloring pages, add a copyright note and info on how to order, at the bottom of each page. I slid a few copies of 6 of my favorites into plastic sleeves, that way if it seems like someone is unsure about making a purchase hand them a freebie! Having something to take away is a reminder of you! I offered pages to all the kids who drifted by, kids love free stuff. Bring before and after sample pages, people like before and afters! And having more than just books at your table gives people things to look at and talk about. Bring a bottle of water! You won’t believe how parched you can get during two hours of talking and smiling! I had doubts that anyone would stop at my table, the weather was cold and I have a way of second guessing decisions like this one! But don’t think negative, just go ahead and do it - even if you get one person to stop, your presence will influence more people than you might realize. The librarian who arranged the event, the people who printed your posters, the individuals who set up your table.. you have touched each life in a particular way, be a positive part of their day! |
